Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Percevio Labs ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use Fazah — our AI teaching companion for university faculty. It applies to teachers, institutional administrators, and visitors to our marketing site.
1. Scope and roles
Percevio Labs operates Fazah for higher-education faculty and their institutions. Depending on how your account is provisioned, Percevio Labs or your university may act as the data controller for teacher account data. Institutional deployments may be governed by a separate data-processing agreement; this policy describes our standard practices.
If you access the product through a university license, your institution's IT or legal team may provide additional terms that apply alongside this policy.
2. Information we collect
- Account information — name, email address, password hash, role (teacher or admin), and institution affiliation when provided.
- Course and teaching content — files you upload (syllabi, slides, readings), course metadata, AI-generated lesson plans, assessments, slides, and exports you create in the product.
- AI interactions — prompts you submit, model outputs returned to you, and credit usage tied to generation features.
- Student-facing activity — responses submitted through assignment share links. Students do not need accounts; we store submission content and limited technical metadata (such as timestamp and link identifier) so teachers can review work.
- Billing information — if you subscribe directly, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive subscription status, plan tier, and billing identifiers — not full card numbers.
- Support communications — messages you send to our support team.
- Technical data — device/browser type, IP address, session identifiers, and application logs used for security, debugging, and service reliability.
3. How we use information
We use personal information only to operate, secure, and improve the service experience — not to build advertising profiles or sell your data.
- Authenticate you and maintain your account.
- Generate and store teaching materials you request using AI features.
- Deliver share links, live sessions, and student submission workflows.
- Manage credits, subscriptions, and institutional allocations.
- Respond to support requests and send service-related notices.
- Monitor abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect platform integrity.
- Comply with legal obligations and institutional contractual requirements.
4. AI features and your content
Fazah includes AI-assisted generation tools. When you use these features, relevant portions of your uploaded materials and instructions are transmitted to our AI infrastructure providers solely to produce the output you asked for in that session.
We do not use your content to train, fine-tune, or improve machine-learning models — whether ours or a third party's. This applies to course uploads, prompts, generated outputs, edits, chat history, and student submissions processed through the platform.
We configure commercial API access with providers that offer enterprise-grade terms prohibiting use of customer API data for model training. Content is not added to public datasets and is not used to develop generalized AI products beyond delivering your request.
You retain ownership of your course materials and generated outputs, subject to your institution's policies and applicable law. AI outputs may require your professional review before classroom use.
6. Data residency and international transfers
We design deployments for higher-education customers across the region with data residency appropriate to institutional requirements. Specific hosting regions depend on your deployment model (pilot, cloud, or dedicated institutional environment).
AI inference may require processing in regions where our providers operate data centers. When data leaves your primary hosting region, we rely on contractual safeguards, encryption in transit, and provider commitments that limit retention and prohibit training on customer content.
Contact us before onboarding if your institution requires a fixed residency footprint or a data-processing addendum.
7. Student data
Students typically interact with Fazah AI only through teacher-issued share links for assignments or live sessions. We do not require students to create accounts for standard submission flows.
Teachers control which materials are shared and can remove or export content. Student submissions are visible to the issuing teacher (and institution admins where applicable), not to other students unless the teacher configures collaborative features.
Institutions remain responsible for informing students how their coursework data is collected, consistent with campus policies and applicable regulations.
8. Retention and deletion
- We retain account and course data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
- If you request account deletion, we apply a 30-day grace period so you can export materials or reverse an accidental request, then purge personal data and course content from production systems except where law or audit obligations require limited retention.
- Billing and security logs may be kept longer in anonymized or minimized form for fraud prevention and compliance.
- Backups are rotated on a schedule; residual copies may persist briefly before automatic expiry.
9. Security
We apply administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to an educational SaaS platform — including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, authenticated APIs, and least-privilege internal access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; report suspected incidents to our security contact promptly.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and institutional role, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export personal information, and to object to certain processing.
We align with regional data-protection laws, including Saudi PDPL (Personal Data Protection Law), for teacher data control, including verified deletion requests. Institutional customers may exercise rights through their designated admin or DPO.
To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy request". We may verify your identity before fulfilling requests.
12. Children
Fazah is designed for university faculty and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us to request deletion.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes for active institutional customers will be communicated through appropriate channels.
